Compiled by Kitamura (Ito) Yukiko

This website aims to introduce how Anita Brookner is received in Japan. Brookner is one of the best-known contemporary British novelists in Japan. From 1988, excellent Japanese translations by Onodera Takeshi were published by Shobun-sha as "the Brookner Collection." In 2005, on the NHK weekly radio series "Culture Hour," Brookner's Hotel du Lac was chosen as one of the masterpieces of the world literature and interpreted by Onodera.
